Common Questions

Things families often ask us

Do you give legal advice or help us decide what to do with an estate?

No. Provenance is strictly an educational and organisational service. We explain general concepts and help families put their own records in order. Any matter requiring professional legal judgement — such as interpreting a will, disputing an estate, or formal succession proceedings — needs a licensed lawyer. We will always point you towards the right kind of professional for those questions.

Will you keep or scan our original documents?

We never take custody of original documents. You bring what you have, we help you sort and label it, and everything goes home with you. We can advise on scanning or digital back-up approaches if that is useful, but the original documents remain yours throughout.

How many sessions does the Full Archive & Wishes Programme take?

It varies by family. Some families with relatively straightforward records complete it in two or three sessions; others prefer a slower pace over four or five. We schedule at a pace that feels right to you, and there is no pressure to move faster than is comfortable.

Can sessions be conducted in Thai as well as English?

Please ask us when you make an enquiry. We work with both Thai and English-speaking families and can discuss language arrangements at the time of booking.

We are an expatriate family — does our situation differ from Thai families?

Record-keeping needs are similar regardless of nationality, but the types of documents and the relevant official bodies can differ. Our workshop covers the Thai context and common cross-border considerations at an educational level. For advice specific to your circumstances, we will signpost you to the appropriate professionals.

What does the ฿3,800 Family Document Set-Up session include?

The session covers a review of what documents you currently have, a structure for organising them into a clear archive, labelling, and a simple index sheet so that any family member can find what they need. There is no valuation, no legal input, and no representation of any kind — purely filing and structure.
