Our Methodology

How Provenance works — and what it does not do

Every service Provenance offers operates within a clearly defined scope: organisational and educational work only. We sort, label, and index documents. We explain concepts in plain language. We write down what families tell us about their wishes. None of this involves legal advice, financial advice, asset valuation, or formal representation of any kind.

When a session reveals questions that sit outside this scope — what a particular document means in law, whether a will is formally valid, how an estate administration proceeds — we say so clearly and point the family towards the appropriate licensed professional. This is not a limitation we apologise for; it is part of what we offer.

We do

Organise, label, index, and archive documents you bring to us

We do

Explain general succession and estate-organisation concepts in plain language

We refer

Direct families to licensed lawyers, notaries, or government bodies for formal matters

Service One

Family Document Set-Up

A calm, focused session to help a family take the records they already hold and put them into a clear, labelled archive. We work with what you bring. We do not advise on the legal standing of any document, assess the value of any asset, or represent any party. The family retains complete control of all documents throughout and after the session.

  • Review of documents you bring
  • Personalised filing and labelling structure
  • Simple index of what exists and where it is
  • Checklist of documents worth gathering
  • Signposting where documents seem incomplete

฿3,800

per session

Typical Session Steps

  1. 1Initial review — spread documents and assess what you have
  2. 2Sorting — group by document type and category
  3. 3Labelling — create clear identifiers for each group
  4. 4Index — produce a written list of contents and locations

Service Two

Succession Basics Workshop

A plain-language, educational workshop explaining how estate organisation and succession concepts generally work in Thailand, what documents are typically involved, and which official bodies or licensed professionals to approach when formal steps are required. This is group education, not individual advice — no one's estate is reviewed or discussed.

  • Overview of succession concepts in Thailand
  • Key document types and what they are for
  • The general process following a bereavement
  • Which official bodies are involved
  • Questions to ask when meeting a lawyer

฿4,400

per person

Workshop Structure

  1. 1Introduction — key concepts and terminology explained
  2. 2Documents — a guided tour of what families commonly encounter
  3. 3Process — the general sequence of steps after a bereavement
  4. 4Professionals — who to approach and what to ask them

Service Three

Full Archive & Wishes Programme

A multi-session package that takes a family from wherever they are through to a complete, indexed archive with a personal wishes document. Sessions run at the family's pace. We gather records, build the inventory, help articulate and record personal wishes, and signpost throughout to the appropriate professionals for anything outside our scope. We organise and record; we never advise on values, entitlements, or legal interpretation.

  • Multiple sessions — typically two to five
  • Full document inventory and archive
  • Personal wishes document (non-legal)
  • Gap identification and signposting
  • Summary notes from each session

Our Standards

What underpins every Provenance service

Privacy & confidentiality

What families share in sessions stays within Provenance. We do not disclose client information to any third party without consent.

Document custody

We do not hold, scan, or copy original documents without explicit permission. All documents remain in the family's possession.

Honest scope

We explain clearly at the start what each service covers — and when a family's question requires a licensed professional, we say so without hesitation.

Session notes

Brief summary notes are provided after each session so families have a record of what was covered and what steps were identified as next.

Consistent process

Each service follows a structured method developed over six years of working with families in the Pattaya region, refined to be clear and repeatable.

Follow-up availability

Families can contact us with brief questions after a session. We are not a one-time service that disappears once the file is closed.

Take the first step

Not sure which service is right? We can help you decide.

A short conversation about where your family stands is often enough to identify the most useful starting point. There is no obligation in an initial enquiry.
