Who We Are

Provenance — a name that means origin and history

Provenance opened in Pattaya in 2019, started by people who had each experienced, in their own families, the confusion that comes when a parent passes away and no one can find the right documents. Important papers were scattered across drawers and folders with no clear labels. Nobody knew which solicitor had been used, or whether there was a will at all, or where property title deeds had been kept. The distress this added to an already difficult time felt unnecessary — and preventable.

The work Provenance does is not legal work. It is not financial planning, and it is not estate administration. It is the quieter work that comes before any of that: helping a family understand which documents exist, where they are, how they are labelled, and what each one is for. We also run plain-language workshops so that families can understand the general concepts around succession and know which kinds of professionals to approach for the steps that require formal advice.

We are based in Chon Buri and serve both Thai families and expatriate families throughout the eastern seaboard. Every session is unhurried. We understand that going through a family archive can surface grief, tension between family members, or simply a lot of uncertainty. We take that seriously, and we do not push families to move faster than feels right to them.

When questions arise that are beyond our scope — valuation, legal interpretation, formal succession proceedings — we say so clearly and direct families to the appropriate licensed professionals. That honesty is part of what we offer.

Our Standards

How we work — and what we will never do

No legal advice — ever

We are not lawyers and we do not advise on legal matters. Any question that falls within the scope of legal advice is redirected, clearly and without hesitation, to an appropriate licensed professional.

Documents stay with you

We never take originals into our possession. We work alongside you with what you bring. All documents return home with you at the end of every session.

Confidential sessions

Information you share during a session remains with Provenance. We do not disclose client details to third parties, and we hold session notes securely.

Transparent scope

Before any session begins, we explain exactly what we do and do not cover. Families make informed decisions about whether our services meet their needs before spending anything.

Appropriate signposting

Where a family's needs extend beyond document organisation, we point them to the right kind of professional — whether that is a Thai lawyer, a notary, or an official government body.

No pressure, no rush

We do not upsell, and we do not push families to take on more sessions than they need. If one session covers your needs, that is a good outcome for us as much as for you.

Our Approach

Organising records for families in Pattaya and Chon Buri

Family records rarely arrive in good order. Certificates, title documents, and account details accumulate in different places over many decades, filed under different names, stored in different properties. When a family reaches a point where these papers matter most — after a bereavement, or while planning ahead — the time needed to locate and make sense of them can be considerable.

Provenance works with families to sort through what they have, build a clear structure, and produce a documented inventory that covers what exists and where it is kept. This is organisational and archival work. It does not touch on the legal standing of any document, the monetary value of any asset, or any claim or entitlement that any family member might have. Those are questions for licensed professionals, and we will always say so.

For families who want to understand the landscape better before approaching formal advisers, the Succession Basics Workshop provides a grounded, plain-language introduction to how succession and estate organisation works in Thailand — the bodies involved, the documents commonly encountered, and the general sequence of steps that follow a bereavement. No individual case is reviewed; the workshop is educational across the board.

Our office is on Pattaya Beach Road, and we are reachable by telephone or email for enquiries. We are happy to explain our services further before any commitment is made.
